From the collection: Frontier Drops LA (2024)

This piece was exhibited in Frontier Drops LA, Prospex’s debut solo exhibition in Los Angeles during the summer of 2024. The show juxtaposed AI-generated images of the frontier with handcrafted garments and quilts, exploring the tension between digital creation and traditional craft.

Set within this dialogue, this framed work captures the essence of the American West as both a myth and a material reality. The AI-generated imagery reflects an imagined frontier—vast, cinematic, and hyperreal—while the presence of handmade textiles in the exhibition ground these visions in physicality, evoking the labor, history, and personal narratives woven into the fabric of the past.

By placing digital art alongside handcrafted works, Frontier Drops LA interrogates what is "real" in the stories we tell about the West. This framed piece is a singular artifact from that exploration—a moment where the frontier’s legend meets its lived experience.
